Hi, I understand that the Hiscore patch in MAME isn't perfect for every game. Until I get around to rebuilding my machine to 64bit I'm stuck on a downloaded compiled version of MAME 32 with HiScore patch. The trouble is it hardly saves any games at all. On my personal laptop (which isn't in my cab) I have another compiled MAME (64 bit) and it saves the hiscore for lots more games than my 32bit version. Can anyone recommend a good 32bit MAME with reliable hiscore save?
Thanks.

I just used the info from this thread http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php/topic,64298.0.html (http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php/topic,64298.0.html) to compile my own copy of mame because I needed an old one to work on my slow machine with my old roms. It worked well. There are a few gray areas in the descriptions of the technique but make informed guesses anytime something specific isn't called out and I bet you could make it work. I did, at 1:30am while dozing off mid process a few times and still got it right somehow.
