Title: Stern MPU 200, capacitor question
Post by: AE35 on February 20, 2015, 08:15:00 am
Hi guys

I just got this Stern MPU 200 board, and it seems there's a normal capacitor installed where
the battery used to go. I usually install memory-capacitors and I haven't seen this before.

Am I missing something? Why would there be a 4700uF 16V cap?

Thanks!

Whoever had that board before you probably didn't know what they were doing. Yank that 4700 uf capacitor out of there and put in the proper memory capacitor.

WTF.   :applaud:

Does it actually work, though?

With only 4700 uf I would think it could hold memory for maybe 5 minutes.
