I'm having a problem with the logitech profiler not applying my specific game settings for each profile. It is using the global settings for every game I launch even though I have specific profiles for each game (dirt 3, f1 2012 etc). This happens if I launch from the profiler or from outside the profiler.
I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the profiler but the problem remains. I have a second pc with the exact specs but it doesn't have the same problem. The only thing I can think of is the problem is on my test machine and I might have uninstalled and reinstalled previously and that is causing problems with left over data or registries.

have you tried launching the games from within the profiler just to see if they stick there?
-
Did you set up the games in profiler on this other computer, or just copy the files over?

Yes, same problem when launching from the
Profiler.

The games have been created in each profiler separately.
Will have a play around later on to try a few things. I know when I did the last uninstall it didn't remove the previous profiles. I manually deleted them and recreated after reinstall. I could maybe try to create new profiles with different names.

It probably doesn't apply here since it's working on another PC, but I've had issues where there was a launcher for the game and then a separate less obvious exe for the actual game.
I had to apply the profiler to the actual game exe for it to work. This could be an issue if using steam shortcuts or the like.

I have a few games like dirt 3 and test drive unlimited 2 which are like this but I know about it so it's not that.
I tried creating profiles with different titles but that didn't work. I have seen posts saying that to uninstall the profiler completely you need to run a registry cleaner afterwards so I will give that a go tonight.

Uninstalling and cleaning the registry did nothing but I have made some progress. I have found that after the game starts if I alt + enter out of full screen select desktop then reselect the game, the profiler settings for that game will kick in.
As soon as I alt + enter back to full screen it reverts back to the global settings. Haven't figured out why that is but at least I've made some progress.

I'd start disabling other things that are running in the background. It sounds like something is preventing profiler from seeing the exe is running.

That's what I was thinking as well. On the weekend I started by uninstalling raptr which is a program that automatically installed when I updated my GPU driver. This program launches when a pc game is started so I thought it could be causing the issue but it didn't fix the problem. I will check for other programs.
Also I'm fairly sure this is only happening for my steam games. I don't have this problem with model 2. I want to also check outrun 2006 which is not run through steam but I'm having trouble configuring the pedals. I think there is a thread somewhere that explains how to do it. Will hunt it down when I get a chance.

for fun - what antivirus are you running?

Norton Internet security

Have you tried disabling it? Test the profiler stuff without Norton running at all? I know its a long shot.... but its an idea? :dizzy:

I'm thinking it is something unique to the steam games.....
Do you have steam already running in the background before the game is launched, or is it launched when the game is launched?

Steam is already running but I have tried to exit steam completely and then launch the game but it doesn't help.
One thing I just remembered is a while ago some of the steam games weren't launching in full screen and I did something to fix but can't remember what it was. Maybe this is the issue so the easiest thing to do is maybe to uninstall steam but I don't won't to download everything again. I think if I make a copy of all the game folders from the steamapps directory and then copy them over to the fresh install it should be ok?

I wouldn't go that far yet.
Show us your path to an exe in profiler that isn't working.
Humor me. :)

\Steam\steamapps\common\
That's where all your games are stored. if you backup this location, nuke steam, re install steam, then copy the backup into this location you won't have to download everything again. Just "install" the game, and it'll check to see what files are already present and shore up the missing stuff. I've done this many, many times. :)
(a similar process works with the Origin client as well)

That was it!!! There were 2 processes running on the problem machine that weren't on the good machine.
ipoint.exe and itype.exe which run because of the Microsoft Mouse and Keyboard centre. Killed these 2 and problem was gone.
Thanks BadMouth!! Luckily the problem wasn't on both machines otherwise it would have been harder to find.
