Bud Selig is out.  :applaud:  I might start giving a ---steaming pile of meadow muffin--- about baseball now.

To tell you the truth, Manfred isn't going to be much better than Bud. The commissioner is just a pawn for the owners to get as much money as possible.

You are probably correct.  I've gone on this long without baseball, longer won't hurt.  Did you ever listen to him during congressional hearings?  Horrible.

That said, most hearings are horrible.

yeah but now there's a chance Pete Rose will get into the hall of fame, so I like him better already.

I remember watching it with my grandmother, waiting for something exciting to happen.
Nothing ever did.

EDIT:  I have been enticed to attend a local minor league game or two.  Free beer and food in a private box on a weeknight I wasn't going to do anything else with.  ...and they have a little arcade there.  The levels they go to trying to make it more entertaining is entertaining in itself.

I used to think Soccer fans were nuts.  Getting excited over a "scoring opportunity" for example.   Then I realized how much I enjoy a "good at-bat" in baseball and how most people probably think that is bat-poo crazy boring.   Judge not I guess.

I love baseball.  The problem with the sport isn't Bud Selig it is the guaranteed contracts.

Yeah, I love baseball as well. I'm looking forward to the upcoming season. I was there when the Diamondbacks started from day one, and it's been a fun ride. Nothing sweeter than a spring training game to waste an afternoon.

I was also jealous for years of you Diamondback fans getting to listen to Mark Grace do play-by-play.  I've always hoped he would end up doing radio for the Cubs someday.
