Title: CRT Arcade chassis in europe
Post by: kourampies on February 05, 2015, 06:50:44 pm
I have 3 68cm tubes nowadays, but no working chassis for any of them. I ve been delaying this for years, but I want to finally get my cab done... I havent measured anything, because I dont have the space to bring the tubes here, and dismantle the donor TVs on the two, but if Im sure I can get a quality chassis that will work properly with 230v power etc, I will start.

Any suggestions?

you need to read the impedance of the deflection yoke, polo 2 chassis are readily available in europe and match standard crt
polo 2 are auto switching 15/25khz and also full range ac(90-250vac)

I even got the special inductance multimeter. One of the CRTs definitely should fit genetic chassis, since it had something like that already.

But where are they readily available?

if you want new chassis then you would need to buy from china

The ones on the UK site are refurbished? New caps etc? Which one do you suggest if we say all are compatible? (15khz, simple curved 68cm tubes)

best thing for you to do first is to post a photo of the deflection yoke connector on your tubes, then read the impedance of both the vertical and horizontal windings of the deflection yoke

do you intend to run 15khz only games?

wouldnt it be easier to grab a decent tv with a quality chassis , than trying to adapt some c grade arcade stuff made in china ? for 29 inch lowres i would recommend a philips of the 29pt5xxx series . should be available in greece .

I had absolutely no luck in 3 years of searching for a 68cm tv to buy. Note that Im not in athens. I have 2 faulty tvs with good tubes, and one arcade monitor. I was thinking of trying to find out whats the best tube, and fit the best chassis I can find on it.

I think they went out of business last year but there must be their products around still

http://www.casinovendors.com/vendor/gd-tronics/ (http://www.casinovendors.com/vendor/gd-tronics/)

Their products were in the u.k on games like skillball bingo and pocket money pool, they also made a replacement 29" monitor for sega medium res games like sega rally

They were actually pretty good monitors
