I am curious to see if anyone is working on a new front end and updates Mame setup for the Raspberry PI 2 that came out today. With a Quad Core processor, and 1 GB ram it should be able to run a nice multi Mame system.

Emulation Station is a real cool front end for MAME and console emulators on the Pi:
Raspberry Pi with RetroPie & EmulationStation (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vq99cf1cuk8#ws)
The RetroPie is a fully configured SD card image with Emulatation Station and all emulators ready to go. Just add the ROMS you want to play. You can just copy them to the Pi using pre-configured SAMBA shares for the ROM folders. No need for any SSH , Linux command prompts :applaud:

Oooo, this is the first I've heard of the new model. Wonder how long it'll be before these are in stock for purchase?

mahcade/wahcade installs on the first rpi but pegs the cpu and just freezes up the system.
Bet this will run it.

Assuming we can play Arcade Emulators fine on the new Pi, anyone able to take an educated guess as to what type of games this would be able to play?

well, my dual core android stick will run the PSP & reicast emulators fairly well.
