Title: Speaker grille size?
Post by: Memorex on February 01, 2015, 05:48:21 pm
For my mame cabinet I'm currently building I have decided to go with car speakers. Just realized the speaker panel might be to narrow for the included grilles to fit.

Was wondering if someone could give me the measurments of those square shaped Midway grilles that are readily available on quite a few webshops? My panel is 155 milimeters high, or 6.1".

They work perfectly with 6x9s. I used them on my HaRuMaN Customs Midway kit with no issue.

I'm using 4" speakers for my cabinet.

Then you won't be able to use those square grills without an adapter.

I'm using 4" speakers for my cabinet.

Thing is I accidently misaligned the speaker holes in the board. So the speakers will be mounted on the back of the board with recessesed screws, and then I'll cheat a bit by screwing or glueing the grills from the front to cover the whole thing up  Though the included grilles cover the uneven holes easily, they're bordering on being to big in diameter for my speaker board. I hoped the measurments of the midway grilles would be a better fit, and look a bit more authentic on the same time.
