Title: Ms pac man works but screen might be bad?
Post by: cavedweller987 on January 30, 2015, 04:49:47 pm
I have an orginal Ms. Pac Man arcade machine. it has sound lights up and is in pretty decent shape. but the screen is all static. I called a local arcade shop and said the screen is shot. would that be right? also a yellow flat cord that could possibly be a ground is not hooked up where might this go?

While I don't have an answer for you the good news is that Ms. Pac cabs are so common there is a lot of info out there. I would start by checking out the manual first (http://www.arcade-museum.com/manuals-videogames/M/MsPac-Man.pdf (http://www.arcade-museum.com/manuals-videogames/M/MsPac-Man.pdf)) or searching the KLOV and this forum for your game's symptoms. Or someone might know the answer here. Just wanted to get you going in the right direction. Welcome to the forum!

step 1: Verify that the monitor is hooked up correctly.
step 2: Verify that it is getting the right amount of power.
step 3: Inspect the Monitor's circuitry to see if you have any damaged capacitors.

Oh yes do send them off to Klove, Whatever ::)... That yellow ground strap most likely went to the control panel, or coin door.
