Title: Hang On/Super Hang On/Racing Hero Acceleration
Post by: codeena on January 25, 2015, 06:23:45 pm
Hi, is anyone familiar with the analog accelerator behavior of Hang On, Super Hang On and/or Racing Hero arcade games? In Mame, I noticed that the accelerator does not work like most racing games in that you cannot hold a certain speed which comes in handy when tacking corners or avoiding obstacles; it seems to behave like a digital button (on/off) instead of an analog axis. So if I turn the throttle just a bit and hold it, it will go all the way to the top speed. I tested it throttle in the Service Mode/Input Test and it works correctly, for some reason it does not in game. And when inputting my high score, the letters will highlight at a single speed no matter how much I turn the throttle. However, the throttle does work properly in Hang On Jr. as well as Manx TT Superbike and MotorRaid in the M2 Emulator. Did anyone else who plays these motorcycle games with analog controllers experience this as well? Perhaps there's a dip switch that needs to be enabled/disabled?

Thanks!

Please share what the issue was so if someone else has the same problem, it will help them.

In Mame, I originally set pedal 1 analog (accelerator/motorcycle's throttle) to Y-AXIS but it has to be set to "Y-AXIS –".
