Title: Tron Control Panel
Post by: Wienerdog on December 19, 2003, 09:11:30 pm
Perhaps this is common knowledge, but has anyone noticed the error on the Tron CP?  I'm sure you'll see it now...

Oh, and if you have ever converted a Tron cab into something else, you are not welcome here.  You know who you are...  ;)

tron moves in 8 directions, not four?

Ya!  All the talk about Tron being an 8 way stick (and I don't mean just recently, the discussion goes back to Kelsey posting restrictor images a year ago, and I'm sure long before that too), this struck me as funny.

There are also two errors in this this sentence.

whoa i read that like 10 times before i noticed "this" was in there 2 times, wheres the 2nd error?

LOL as i was typing that i noticed sentance spelled wrong, weird how we can still read fine with jumbled up stuff

Well actually, sentance is not a word. Sentence is how it is supposed to be spelled so that is not the second error.

The first error is that the word 'this' was used in duplicate. The second error is that the sentence states there are two errors but there is only one. Get it?

Jeez.. maybe I should get some sleep.

I never even had a TRON cp to check that out Wienerdog.
One of many parts that cab was lacking.  :'(

I had a hard enough time last week looking for the brackets to mount the monitor vertically inside the cab.  :)

I am making a new CP for that cab though. I'm looking to fashion it after the CP's on the Williams style cabs. Now that I have my router, it shouldn't be to hard at all. :)

Sorry, I was actually making a joke about Ken Layton who said "I didn't restore the Trons----I converted them all to something else " in 1Ups Blacklight thread...  I had forgotten about your cab, you are welcome here for saving a stripped Tron cab from the sledge hammer.  :)

Ahhh, now I understand !  ::)

BTW, did you ever see any good conversions of that style cab? I'm looking for some ideas before I get started.

Thanks,

GZ

I read that in Game Informer.  Pretty interesting stuff.  Wonder if it's a universal truth or just roman language specific.

Speaking of Tron, the movie was on last night and I ended up watching the whole thing.  Of course after that I had to go play it on my mame machine.  The problem is I have a standard street fighter layout with a trackball and spinner, so it's a bit tough to play.

I got to thinking about how to play it without adding an actual Tron stick to my already (somewhat) cluttered control panel.  I recently bought a partially gutted Ninja Gaiden cabinet, it still had the control panel with joys and buttons, but no monitor or boards.  So, to make a long post even longer, could I use the Ninja Gaiden joystick to play Tron?  I haven't taken the control panel apart yet and I don't know how the button on the top of the joystick is wired.  Can it just be wired to player 1 button 1?
