I frequent Pixel Joint (http://www.pixeljoint.com/) often, and really enjoy their weekly challenges. There are some really great current pixel artists out there, and a lot of them submit their works to this site.
It doesn't have any official game sprites, but for the pure artistic value of new pixel art, it's probably my favourite site.
