Title: Golden Tee Trackball to PC?
Post by: chrisindfw on December 19, 2003, 04:23:18 pm
Is it possible to connect a golden tee trackball that plugs into the board somehow into an OPAC so it can be used for mame games?

Thanks

Yes. That's exactly what the optipac is designed to do.

Oscar Controls will show you how to wire it.  You can get the also get the TB harness at oscarcontrols if you don't feel like wiring it yourself.  (All current TBs have the same pin out, and almost the same wire coloring.)

Yep - what he said.

I actually used a brand new Golden Tee ball with an Opti-Pac on my cab, and it took maybe 15 minutes to wire the whole thing. It was a simple matter of:
1. chopping off the big, clunky plastic connector that held all the wires together,
2. stripping a bit off the exposed ends, and then
3. following the very clear directions on Ultimarc's web site to screw the right wires into the right sockets of the Opti-Pac.

I think I might have had to switch a wire here or there to make sure up was up and down was down, but that's a piece of cake.
