Title: Super Bowl
Post by: Hoopz on January 19, 2015, 02:17:22 pm
Who ya got?

I'm no fan of either team but as long as GB lost, I'm happy.  Sorry, Vigo.  My guess is the young buck makes Brady 3-3 in Super Bowls.  Wilson and Seahawks 31-27 with Brady throwing a few Ints.

I'm rooting for the Patriots as they are the lesser of two evils in this case.  Belichick needs to prove he is really a genius.

I rarely listen to the Jim Rome show but happened to catch some of it today at lunch.  Radio gold listening to him beat up on the Packers.

Jim Rome is real good at snark but not good at anything else.  That's been his schtick for years.

Yep.  That's why I quit listening to him.  That being said the snark was put to great use today.

Sorry, Vigo.

I am still clueless how the Packers managed to lose that game. :dunno

After the game I sat down and played the most fierce game of Space Invaders I have ever played in my life. It was very therapeutic.

I'm gonna have to agree with Seahawks for the win this SB, although my motivation to watch the SuperBowl was killed yesterday at about 5:30 pm Central Standard time.

Anyway they can both lose?  Not a Brady/Belichick fan but have a hard time rooting for Lynch/Sherman, they just show so little class. I guess forced to choose I'd route for Seattle just because of Wilson.

I understand he's a genius but what genius keeps fielding your starters when you're up 38 points?

 :dunno

Green Bay put on a cowboys level collapse.  It was almost like they were there.

Carroll or Ryan Lindley?  Gotta road trip with one for 8 hours and talk the entire time.  No weapons, no suicide, no venom.  Who's your guy?

Belicheat may be a great coach but he has less class than anyone on Seattle.

Sports Illustrated did an article on the Pat's cheating ways.  Here are some highlights-

–Patriots staffers who supply the visiting team with towels eavesdrop and report back findings to the home team.
–Opposing coaches put locks on their locker room to prevent Patriots staffers from walking in to grab play sheets.
–Head coach Bill Belichick didn’t follow the unwritten rule to run by his ineligible formations with the league office before running them last Saturday
–Belichick instead ran it by NFL referee Bill Vinovich before the game in hopes to confuse and intimidate the official.
–And the best of all: The large monitor outside CBS Scene restaurant in Patriot Place only is visible to the Patriots’ sideline, which gives Belichick and the Patriots the advantage of being able to see replays.

Guess that's the difference of East Coast v West Coast.  Living in Indy with the "rivalry" (read that as annual ass kicking by NE over Indy) between the two teams, it's easy to despite Belichick for his ---That which is odiferous and causeth plants to grow---.  Carroll, when coaching in the AFC East, sucked balls so no one cares about him.  Same when he was at USC.  Most major programs in the NCAA are dirty so I'm pretty blase about his BS there.

A couple good articles out of NESN this AM about Belicheat and the 11 balls that were under inflated.  Very unbiased for them.  I hear people calling for him to be fired and I seriously doubt Kraft will do that.

And losing draft picks doesn't hurt them since Belicheat is the master of the draft.  He trades down, acquires more picks, and gets better players later in the draft than other teams get early in the draft.

So you lose by over 30 points because of 0.5psi?

Title: Re: Super Bowl
Post by: Hoopz on January 21, 2015, 10:37:44 am
My team loses by 30 because they have no DBs, LBs, and a QB that throws INTs like he's giving out candy at Halloween.

The ball pressure had zero outcome on the game.

I am a lifelong Patriots fan and I am really pissed at the team and Belichick.  :censored:

I was hoping this was the year they maybe win the whole thing and shut up the spy-gate people. But even if they win that will still be hanging over their head.  :banghead:

Only positive is Belichick is real good at circling the wagons and using stuff like this as motivation for his team.

Maybe I should just say screw it and embrace the villain role the Pats seem so good at playing.  :dunno

Yeah, see the only way this works out for me is if the Seahawks lose the Super Bowl in my building (hopefully badly). And to do that, the Patriots have to win, but they're a bunch of filthy cheaters as well.

Sigh. That's alright. At least I can take solace in the fact that the 'roids the Seahawks take will eventually result in underinflated balls as well.

Aderall.  They all have ADHD.

I'm sure Deadspin will post the Facebook map showing what states want which team to win.  East of the Mississippi, I'll wager that only the NE states want NE to win while out west, only the NFC west states want NE to win.  Seattle may be obnoxious but people hate NE for cheating.

I'll set the over/under for Lynch crotch grabs at 2.

Actually, yesterday morning the ESPN Sportsnation map, made up of voters, had every state except Oregon and Washington expecting the Pats to win. Not necessarily who they WANTED to win, sure, but this was pre-Ballgate.

Apparently the Colts, when they got destroyed by NE in Nov, noticed two balls were underinflated.  Refs took balls in at halftime and weighed both the Colts' and Pats'.  Colts were fine and Pats weren't.

I'm not a homer living here, but I hate the Pats and their cheating BS.

Good article on PFT that Josh McDaniels needs to say what he knows about this.  He was OC during spygate, got fined by the NFL after that when coaching the Broncos for not reporting someone taping the opponents walk through, etc.

He may be the worst person in the NFL.  And that's saying something.  I usually say that about the Packers and Lions.

:applaud: that was a great finish. Let Seattle smell Super Bowl victory and rip it out of their paws.  And nothing like a good ol' fight and ejection, followed by a dumb penalty to seal defeat. (About as dumb as the patriots almost attempting to kneel in the end zone.  ::) )

I made two Super Bowl wishes. One was for the squaks to be ahead and lose in the last minute. The other was for Pete Carroll and bill belichick to both be kicked in the balls by a sasquatch. 1 out of 2 ain't bad.

On the side...the fake crowd noises reminds me of the fiasco a bunch of car companies are facing lately with their "fuel efficient" vehicle models having an artificial "bad ass engine" sound play through the stereo speaker systems in the cabin. oy vey.

Does everybody assume the public is incapable of cheering or booing for the teams? Are they afraid they will sit silently with their hands folded quietly watching the sport? Our car is fuel efficient but doesn't make a lot of noise...is this something we could fix with a PROPER exhaust system? nawww just play some vroom vroom sounds/cheering/booing through some speakers instead.

It's like these guys get their ideas from retarded facebook posts.

At least the second half was entertaining.

And I kind of liked the half time show.

My wife flipped over to the game just to see the half time show. I was watching X-Files on my phone with headphones but I'm always up for seeing Katy Perry. She has nice... talents.  ;D

I'd watch her read a dictionary...

I saw it on Youtube and Vine.  Here's this one:

That was honestly the first half time show that I've ever watched from beginning to end.  And I've not missed a super bowl since the mid 70s.

I'll not watch another.

Did you see that ludicrous display last night?
What was Wenger thinking sending Walcott on that early?
