Bill Burr, Steven Wright, Norm Macdonald, Robin Williams.  I know Robin Williams is cliche but his stream of consciousness way of telling jokes is great.  He is on his fifth joke before you are trying to catch his second joke.

Joel McHale, Patton Oswalt, and Steve Martin

I was a fan of Martin going back to the old Smothers Brothers show.  When my kids were little I took several of Martin's CD's and edited out anything that was too adult so they could listen.  "Can I mumbo dogface to the banana patch?" became a running joke in our house.

Sinbad, Louis Anderson and carrot top.

:laugh2: God, I can't even type that with a straight face.

Bill Cosby always cracked me up as a stand up.  the only time I got to see him live I about died laughing and most of the material I had heard many times before. "But dad, my names Jesus Christ"

Chocolate cake, the dentist....

"and tired"

I was bigtime into comedy in the late 80's/early 90's.  Bill Cosby himself was classic, Comic Relief, Eddie Murphy Delirius.
What was really funny is that my father would confiscate and burn my sister's tapes for raunchy lyrics, but never said anything about my comedy tapes.

My current favorite is probably Stephen Lynch.

There is a comedy night locally. It's seasonal, only during the winter.
I always say I need to make it there more often, but never do.
Been there twice in five years.  :-\

EDIT: Just looked at the website.  They've added Friday night shows at a different location a half mile from my house.
Somehow only having to drive 2 minutes instead of 10 makes a difference to me.   :lol

I now have "Dad is great! Give us the chocolate cake!" going through my head.

Back in the 80's this whole skit stuck with me and was a running joke with my friends..

I like any comedian who can make me laugh uncontrollably.

Check out his Monday Morning podcast (http://www.billburr.com/podcast). Even his commercial reads are hilarious.

I saw George Carlin the year before he died. My only live comedy show. (Besides the ones on carnival cruise)

Sam Kinison and Steve Martin are pretty funny guys.

Sam is funny in an over the top kind of way, while Steve.... now I have to listen to "A Wild and Crazy Guy". I should probably get some Sam Kinison records, I have just listened to snippets here and their.  :lol

I saw Leno a few years back at a casino.  Nothing stood out as gratuitously raunchy, but a much different  show than network TV.

Bill Burr & Mitch Hedberg.

I liked Jimmy Carr too.
