Title: I need ideas for some cool old laptop projects!

I have a couple of old laptops sitting around capable of running XP.  I'm looking for some cheap projects that I can build with them.  The only monitor I have is a 15" LCD 4:3.  I'd prefer to use the laptop display.

Any cool projects out there that I can poach?

Sound ideal for a tabletop cocktail build like Maximus Ms. Pac or grab you up a toughbox and turn an old laptop into a ruggedized mame case.  Just build the CP into the lower half and use quick disconnect joys like that one guy is working on.

Hmmm...tabletop cocktail.  I'd forgotten about that one!  I do like the PortaMAME.  That thing is awesome.  Problem is, I have 3 kids, no money and no friends. :D

I really loved Termin8tor's Arkanoid Bartop , if it were me I'd consider doing something like that with unique controls that I don't specifically cover with another cabinet.

Although I prefer using a monitor, a vigolix always can work well with a laptop.

Well I had a friend over for half of it. Wimbledon for sega master system has the same addictive pull that super spike v ball does for nes. Also legend of mystical ninja, cannon fodder for 3d0, SuperC, Mario64, Rush2049, and then I played Snatcher until midnight. Here's a short video of the thing hooked up to my TV.
