Title: Aimtrak Button 2
Post by: Richardgregory on January 05, 2015, 05:43:57 pm
Hi folks:

I finally got around to setting up an Aimtrak gun on a cab, and realized that button 2 (the button by the barrel of the gun and not the trigger button) isn't working.  I bought it months ago, so I can't return it for an exchange I don't think.  When I go to MAME <Tab> set up Player 1 controls, for Player 1 Button 1, it registers properly when I press the trigger button, but for Player 1 Button 2, when I press the other button, nothing registers, so I suspect it's broken.

Am I missing something here?

Thanks

did you try binding the button.

what happens if you set that button so right mouse button in aimtrack setup, does it work on windows desktop?

Tried to bind in MAME, but when I press the button, nothing registers.

In Aimtrak setup utility, I have it configured as follows.

---------On Screen----------Off Screen
TRIG = Mouse LEFT-------Mouse RIGHT
AUX= ----------------------AUX= --------
P1= GP Button 1----------GP Button2

I took apart the gun and the connections look in tact.

I guess I really don't need the button 2 do I?  Do some titles need 2 gun buttons?

you will never need more than 1 button.

I use arcade guns. why is your AUX empty, and what is that.

is P1 your working button, when you fire than inside or outside the screen it will create a different keypress.

do you not have a P2 or some other row in your software, in mine I have

trigger      Mouse left
Left          GP1
Right        GP2

and left and right are my two buttons.

Definitely looks like you need to map AUX to something in the utility.
