Title: Loot!
Post by: eds1275 on December 24, 2014, 02:44:32 pm
Share your loot if you got anything awesome. Not that that's what the holiday is about, but I won't lie it is a perk to be on the receiving side of things from time to time.

For myself I ordered a computer for a console emulator to live in the living room. Can hardly wait to play some 3d0 games!

I got a sweet coffee mug that has a telecaster-ish guitar for the handle. It's a porcelain mug and it keeps the coffee hot for a while yet doesn't bugger up the taste like a plastic travel mug does. It has replaced my previous coffee mug (which was just a black mug, but good at keeping things warm.) I got this new mug from a friend when we exchanged gifts last week. I likely won't be getting anything from my wife as we decided not to do gifts, but then she found out I got her one anyways so I may. I will post back tomorrow if anything happens!

I bought this for my christmas gift a couple months ago.  :lol  I gotta wrap it tonight.

Niiiiiiiice. I play in a ukelele band, switching between uke and mandolin. I really want to but can't justify a more expensive instrument - currently I play a $30 one.

Bought myself a Kreg jig and screw sampler a few months ago.  (bought myself too much stuff in the past few weeks to list)
Had the famdamnly buy me the various clamps and bulk boxes of the screws I'll use the most.
Also got the Kreg rip guide for the circular saw and a Jasper circle cutting jig.

Nephew's favorite gift was the upgrades to his cab; a new pc and a 2 player CP.
The big draw though was the addition of beat 'em ups.

Honestly I saw chuffing or whatnot in the title and, since it has a similar title as another thread I choose to not view at work, I kind of skipped right over it.

Didn't even know what that thread was about. :dunno

Update to loot:

Archer C7 v2 AC1750 router
SiriusXM subscription renewal
350 dollars worth of Home Depot gift cards
various gift cards for date nights

I think this was the year of the remote control in our house.  My son received 2 RC baja style cars, 2 RC robot boxers (similar to rock'em sock'em), and two RC bumper cars.  They all run on the same two frequencies, so its been hysterical.

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays everyone!

Scratch-made beef stroganoff is on tap for dinner.  Be jealous fellas.

Nice! I can't read the headstock but looks like a lot of fun.

On a boxing day sale, I picked up a Mackie 1604vlz3 for $125! Last month I traded a crummy guitar processor for a mackie 1604vlz so now I have two of them. I'm trying to sell either one of them and make a little profit. I need one for my rehearsal PA.

I spent "boxing day" looking at houses with my mother in law that plans on selling her estate and tightening that blessed 2,500 mile gap.  12 hours at a mall have also been involved.

Pray for me, BYOAC.

I did post this first thing in the other thread, but a few weeks before Christmas I spoiled myself and picked up a new acer g-sync 27" gaming monitor for my gaming rig, along with a corsair gaming keyboard (full rgb keys, all programmable, cherry switches, etc.. not bad).  Oh, and a new Samsung 850 pro ssd to replace my first gen ssd drive that was always out of room.  Gaming computer is up to date again, even if I am only playing games that you can play on a $300 laptop.. lol.

Then my folks followed the tradition started last year (mostly in effort to avoid as much death tax as possible) and gifted each of us "kids" a healthy amount of cash.  Mostly I will use it for my middle daughter who is starting college in the Fall, but yesterday I bought a new gun safe at Cabela's.. 605 lbs of awesomeness.  Makes me want to buy a few more guns now that I have more room to store them safely... and now I can have ammo around the house for the guns I didn't have secured.  Gonna get it delivered and hauled down stairs next week..

Actually though, as good of a year as it has been for me, the best Christmas gift I got was to have all my kids with me the whole time.  On top of this, my girlfriend's son texted on the 20th and said he would be home for Christmas, and ended up here the next day.  What a great surprise.  He hasn't been home since he was assigned to Ft. Hood over a year ago, and she had really been missing him.

I took the few days between each holiday off so I got nearly 2 weeks off work in a row, and plan to finish the final editing of my book and get it up on Amazon.  Keep getting distracted by other lazy things to do though, lol!  Hope everyone had a Merry Christmas!

ouch...

It's about a man who goes under for a surgery in 1966 and wakes up about 300 years later in a post apocalyptic world where humankind is on the brink of extinction.

Hoping to finish up today and start preparing it for publishing on Amazon so friends and family can read the final draft.  I have picked it up to work on it about a half dozen times over the past 5 years since finishing it the first time, and usually don't get more than half way through before life gets in the way of writing.  So this is the first time in about 4 years I have read the second half of the book, and I am really enjoying reading it.

From what I read last night, as long as I don't opt to include my book in the prime membership sharing or any special promotions, then I am allowed to publish through other means.
pretty much done, just writing a synopsis today and coming up with last minute cover art.  Changed the title, so had to spend about 15 hours revising things to make it fit right.
