Anyone have a list of the _______ vs ________ fight games and their sequels?
ie. Capcom vs SNK 2.
Is there a name for these types of games? Like...cross-company fighting game, or something like that?
ETA: updated question.

just called "cross overs" AFAIK
Capcom VS SNK
Capcom VS SNK 2 (and 2000 Millennium Pro)
Fighters MegaMix (Sega Saturn)
Marvel VS Capcom
Marvel VS Capcom 2
Marvel VS Capcom 3 (+Ultimate) (non arcade)
Marvel Super Heroes VS Street Fighter
Mortal Kombat VS DC (non arcade)
SNK VS Capcom ": SVC Chaos
Super Smash Brothers (non arcade)
Tatsunoko vs. Capcom
XMen VS Street Fighter
Thats all the fighters I can think of ignore the MK VS DC & Smash Brothers if you only want capcom/SNK fighters

I took it as "1 set of characters from something" vs "another set of characters from something else" Not just head to head fighting games.

Thank Malenko, that's what I was thinking of. Searching through Wikipedia was semi-helpful, since some of the versions where arcade and ported, and others were console. Partially why I gave my example of SNK vs Capcom 2.
Also, for reference, the leading company name is who released and developed the game.
I did forget about the MK vs DC stuff.

There is a sublink on that page for Capcom Vs, I should have linked directly to that one, sloppy on my part.

yeah but capcom wasnt the only VS game maker :)
That's why I put MK vs DC and Smash Brothers up there, but yeah, they were/are console games. I also assumed you didnt want stuff like SNK VS Capcom Card Fighter's Clash. Just added Fighters Megamix, cant believe I forgot that one. You can fight as the Hornet Car from Daytona USA!

No there isnt, they are the same game. There is no "non SVC Chaos version" of SNK vs Capcom.
SNK released:
SNK vs. Capcom: The Match of the Millennium (Fighting game for NeoGeo Pocket Color)
SNK vs. Capcom: Card Fighters Clash (Card fighting game on NeoGeo Pocket Color)
SNK vs. Capcom: Card Fighters 2 Expand Edition (asia only sequel to the first game on neogeo pocket color)
SNK vs. Capcom: SVC Chaos (the arcade game, also ported to PS2 and XBOX) Game came on both stand alone JAMMA boards and as a NeoGeo Cart.
SNK vs. Capcom: Card Fighters DS (Card Fighter Clash sequel on Nintendo DS
Everything else was released by Capcom: (just listing the vs SNK stuff below)
Capcom vs. SNK: Millennium Fight 2000 - Naomi powered arcade game, ported to Dreamcast
Capcom vs. SNK: Millennium Fight 2000 PRO - Arcade update that added Dan Hibiki and Joe Higashi
Capcom vs. SNK 2: Mark of the Millennium 2001 (called Capcom vs. SNK 2: Millionaire Fighting 2001 in Japan) Naomi powered Arcade sequel , later ported to consoles.

Next question - is there any artwork for these games that don't have the characters standing around in bunches, waiting to come down from their steroid high? >:D

Would really appreciate if they moved away from the 'roids of SF, Marvel, etc, and went with the concepts from KI.

Yeah the characters in fighting games are just getting to the point of not being able to move their arms and legs due to muscle or jump around due to breasts bigger than... anything else on the screen.
