Hi all.
Been out of hobby for a bit, now configuring my set up using Mala and Groovy make for my licensed Hankin cocktail re-release.
It's using a 4:3 LCD monitor with a SLG.
I'm able to go into the game settings (using tab key) and change the screen ratio to fit better.
For example in Elevator Action I have option to set "standard (4:3) or Pixel Aspect (8:7)
In this case 8:7 is better, but I would like to stretch it out a tad more, but how do I do this.
I couldn't find the ration of 8:1 in the ini file, so I could simply change the ratio, can anyone help me out.
I'd like to also do this with some horizontal games, but limited to the in game video options as just mentioned.
Cheers

GroovyMAME uses the "aspect" option to know the correct aspect ratio of your monitor. If you enter the real aspect of your monitor in this option (e.g. -aspect 4:3 or -aspect 16:9) vertical games will be displayed at 3:4, leaving the required black borders as expected.
If you want to force the proportions and make the games look wider, what you need to do is to lie GM about your monitor aspect. So instead of 4:3, tell GM it is 3:3, then GM will think you have a square monitor and compensate the proportions and the result will be a wider game. If you specify 3:4, the game will fill the screen.
I really don't understand what you intend to do with horizontal games.

Great, this is exactly what I needed.
Setting aspect to 4:4 stretches out the games just that bit more so it doesn't look too out of place on a Vertical screen.
With horizontal games, just the same, stretch them out a bit more.

But horizontal games should already occupy the whole width don't they?

Yes, when I talk about stretching them out I'm mean height wise, not width.
