Title: New LCD + New Plexi = Reflection?
Post by: gb_phil on December 16, 2014, 01:42:27 pm
I just installed a new LCD monitor into my MAME machine. I also took the opportunity to buy a new piece of Plexi (actually it's a lower end acrylic sheet...Lowe's didn't have Plexi in stock to cut to my specifics). On some games there's a floating image type reflection especially when numbers or letters are involved. Is this because of the new LCD, the new glass, or a combo of both? Wondering if maybe a better piece of glass would help. It's kind of a neat effect but I have a feeling it'll become annoying. Photo below. The High Score is being reflected.

Is the monitor matte or glossy? Glossy is much more reflective.

Are the monitor and the plexi parallel to each other? That will cause an infinite mirror effect. See if you can angle the monitor slightly.
