Title: Sketchup Help Needed
Post by: tkropp17 on December 14, 2014, 11:10:34 pm
I'm venturing into making a cab with a 50" LED screen mounted vertically and need help making an outline. I've been working in photoshop to make the outline, but i'm running into some roadblocks and need help with making it work.

Thanks!
TJ

Essentially, I was making the attached in photoshop, then I turn it into a PDF and take it to FedEx to print an outline. I've done this with a few other things. However, I'm trying to fit in a 50" TV this time and make it look good lol. The TV is 44" tall when vertical, the top 8.5" are black space, the next 24" is playable area, followed by 11.5" of black space.

Your best bet is to create something using SketchUp.  Here's a great example of how another member planned out his cab with that tool:  http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php/topic,141562.0.html (http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php/topic,141562.0.html)

It will save you a lot of frustration in the long run and you can "virtually" see if everything fits before building it.

I've tried sketchup and I guess I have to read some tutorials on it or something. I didn't get how to use it. Thanks for the advice.

Some users here may be able to help.  They are pretty proficient at it.

You may want to modify your first post's Subject to read:  "Sketchup Help Needed" or something similar.
