Title: Monitor Auto Adjust - every time :(
Post by: Sshado on December 08, 2014, 10:27:25 am
I am building a cocktail cabinet with a Planar PX212M monitor. Everytime I turn it on, it needs the auto adjust button pressed to reset the display. Does anyone know how to set it and keep it set?

your monitor should remain powered up even in when the power switch is off. sounds like the cheapness of your monitor is showing (storing settings in cheap volatile RAM (where the setting would be lost if the power was removed) instead of spending the extra and storing the monitor settings in a seperate ROM area (where they would be retained one writen.)

your monitor should automatically power down and go to standby once a video signal is lost. have the power come into the cabinet and power the monitor, then branch off through the power switch and power the game. that way the monitor is always on and ready to go when the power is turned on for the game.

I had this with a monitor one, i did it the cheap and easy way

If your auto button is just a momentary button wire it to the PC on/off button

that way when you turn it on you auto sync your monitor.
If you require a delay then add in a 555 timer to take control or buy another monitor :)

Wow, I feel like an idiot. I should have looked through the menu options before posting, the auto adjust was set to off. I kind of lost sight of looking into the menu options when the monitor is stripped of it's case. Anyway, thanks for the comments, it is working now.
