Title: CRTEmuDriver installation problems...
Post by: zebidia on November 30, 2014, 05:04:37 pm
I'm having some trouble installing CRTEmuDriver on my PC. The driver installation completes with a dialog stating that one compondnt installed successful but two other driver items failed because no device found (or something to that effect... sorry, not at my PC ATM). After dismissing this dialog,  I get another that states no packages were installed.

Here's my specs:

Core i5 CPU, 4GB ram
ATI HD-4650 low profile
Fresh install of Windows 7/64 Ultimate, all updates applied.

I didn't install the Catalyst drivers after Win install, but instead went directly to Device Mangler and removed the default driver Windows picked and without rebooting, ran the CRTEmuDrivern installer as Administrator.

Not sure what else to try. Any ideas?

Thanks.

The driver is probably installed. Check in the display manager if the driver signature is "Calamity".

After a reboot, I checked in Device Manager, and it showed 'ATI Radeon HD 4600 Series' listed under 'Display adapters', but there was an exclamation mark on it. I simply re-ran the CRTEmu installer (again, as administrator), and while I got the same 'driver not needed (no device for update present)' messages, I did get another dialog asking me to do the test mode, which I did. Another reboot later, and no more exclamation mark on the ATI Radeon item in Display adapters. Also, the Digital Signer for the driver reads 'Calamity', so I assume all is well.

Moving on to test GroovyMame.

Thanks, C.
