Title: Can't get CRT_emudriver to work on tri-sync arcade monitor - help please!
Post by: crispux3 on November 16, 2014, 04:47:41 pm
I just updated to the most recent CRT_emudriver 1.2b and groovyUME .155. I can't get a picture on my billabs monitor, although I can on my old Dell pc crt monitor when I set the resolution to 640x480 @ 31.5khz. My monitor, a bl25c90t (wei-yea m31 series), is supposed to be able to handle that resolution, but I only get a screen like in the first picture (img_4998). I can see the screen rolling a bit, and I've tried adjusting both vertical and horizontal hold with no luck. You can see in the other pictures that I use the d-sub on the back of the monitor and use a DVI-VGA adapter on the PC.

Here are my PC specs:

Biostar BIOSTAR H61MGC
Intel G860 celeron 3.0Ghz
AMD Radeon HD4350 (I'm not sure which brand. I bought it from ebay in Jan 2013)
Windows XP x64 edition

I had things working before with CRT_emudriver 1.2 and groovyUME .152 on a Sony PVM monitor, but I can't get things to work on this arcade monitor. Please help!

I looks like there's no video signal being received... can you confirm that's not the case?

As I was using the control arrows on arcade_osd, sometimes I could move the v.hold and h.hold enough to get a faint image (it looked like it was in a quad though), and if I switch back to the dell crt monitor an image displays just fine. It seems like the arcade monitor is getting some type of signal as I also can see the screen "rolling," but it is just a very faint image and there is little to no color (other than the blue screen itself).

I'm not familiar with this monitor but some tri and dual syncs have a dip switch or jumper in order to enable the VGA port over the normal port, or to switch between 15K/25K and 31K modes.

Sorry, I think I may have gotten carried away in my posting. I realize I posted nearly the same thing in another thread. Anyhow, I did get the monitor to receive a signal by getting a new DVI-VGA adapter and new VGA cable. It seems that was the problem. Also, to help avoid overposting, the main post where all the information is found is in the monitor/video forum here: http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php/topic,142201.0.html (http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php/topic,142201.0.html)

Glad to see you sorted it out.
