Do you like a cup of awesome? I do every now and then, especially with this little gadget I got from officemax. I did some research before I got this and I was interested in the $99 black friday tablet offer at walmart. I just purchased a nokia 630 to play around with and a windows 8.1 tablet might be his big brother. But this HP is not a RT but an open PC with a quad core processor. Hmmmm.
I got steam installed and downloaded half life 2. So far so good. I replaced the micro sd from a gaming android tablet, so I will see how Mame performs. The only drawback is the 1gb of ram, but the display area is small enough to accomodate most games.
The bonus is the free office 365 and a spare pc license which is a $60 fee, which makes this tablet $39.00
Snag one before they sell out.

I'd be interested, if it's possible to hack Linux onto it, without having to jump through too many hoops. But knowing M$, it's likely to be heavily locked down.

Sorry it is not that kind of device. Most of it is hardwired. That said, nothing to stop you running vmware and sticking puppy Linux on it. It would cut down looking for drivers. I am trying to get world of Warcraft running from an external drive, and link it to my private server.
Virtualization is turned off but hyper V is on.....hmmmm. ;D
