I just got a zero delay encoder to try out and it came with two types of latching QDs.
The 4.8mm has a little barb that goes into the hole on the microswith contact, and it was a nice tight sliding fit, but it's almost impossible to press the barb to get it back off again. So not quite QD, but a good electrical connection.
The 2.8mm version has a barb with a lever. It is easy to release the connection. But my concern with this one is that it is loose fit, so it's obviously touching but there is very little contact force. What do you think of that electrically? should I worry?
My previous experience is that I couldn't find reliable sliding fit QDs so I solder, but tight secure QDs on ready made harnesses are the ideal for a product you want to sell.

Just pinch down the QD a little with some pliers for a tighter connection. Before you slide the QD onto it's mating tab.

The best connected QDs I have were my .250s I smashed down to fit onto the .187s.
