Title: DAE read make magazine?

There is an issue where punk rock girl 3d prints plastic spikes for her leather jacket.    The spikes are drilled out for LEDs.   Nice consistent illumination.

I'm gonna continue searching because it could be a route to backlit t-molding.

In the meantime,  has anyone seen what I'm talking about?

I don't care for MAKE much anymore. My searches never lead me there.

Well... if one assumes one has a 3D printer, I guess it can be done.

Maybe "U" molding or something like a "C" so the LED has a place to go and you have something to attach to? Who was it that cut the leg off their T-Molding to get EL wire under theirs?

How much would you need? What's the bare minimum for an unbroken job on a typical cab? Let's say... 8 feet? Can a 3D printer print out a long continuous job like that? Adafruit made theirs pretty short. I figure because the size of the table was a limiting factor.

Maybe an assemblage of "scales" or chains that can be pieced together to form one continuous strand? Kind of like Tim Burton's Batmobile Cocoon-mode. Can't imagine too many cab designs that would look good on though.
