Was wondering if anyone knows were to get the Ipac2 for less than $40. I found a good discussion but wanted to try hear as well. Thank you.

Are you ONLY looking for IPacs, or are you looking for inexpensive, programmable, keyboard-style encoders in general?
If so, consider the KADE open source encoders such as the miniArcade or microArcade.
Details at kadevice.com (http://kadevice.com).
If you're handy with a soldering iron, you can "roll your own" with a KADE-compatible AVR. (see link in sig)

I like what OzStick said on that site:
"I don't quite understand that people are happy to spend crazy $$$ on a 3 monitor video pinball setup as well as a high spec PC with all the trimmings, yet they want to go cheap when it comes to a purpose built keyboard encoder to tie it all together......?"
Having said that, if you're building a 1 player machine, go KADE. I player with LEDs? GP+LED-Wiz. Two players? I-Pac.

Your legs ever get tired? You seem to be pushing KADEs more hardcore than ever.

These things don't go on sale.
If you can't swing $40 you need to budget for a long term goal.
What is your motivation for lower cost? What is your goal? Single player fight stick? Desktop control panel? Bartop? Pedestal Cab? Full size 4 player upright? If you don't have an answer for this, Vigolix is your answer. What are your favorite games?
KADE / AVRs are the new custom keyboard hack for the ages. I don't quite recall when keyboard encoders came on the scene, but oh man, if we had IPACs, KADES and Keywhizs back then, BYOAC would have been a totally different landscape.

Ultimarc sells them for less than $40. They're $39 on the site. Boom.
They used to offer an IPACve (ve stood for value edition). I think it ran in the $20-$25 range. Just like the IPAC, but without mappable inputs. I either have one buried somewhere, or sold mine to yotsuya...
EDIT: Guess they still offer them: http://ultimarc.com/ipacve.html (http://ultimarc.com/ipacve.html)
Now they're $35 (maybe that's how much they've been all along, but a $4 savings seems strange), but that price does include free air mail...

Legs?? I type with my fingers. :P :lol
I offer alternatives based on people's stated wants/needs -- in this case, budgetary concerns.

Let's leave the comedy to the experts.
That being said, he asked specifically for an IPAC2 with a budgetary concern, unless there is an IPAC2 KADE I don't know about you aren't addressing his concern, you are just pushing your product.

Everyone - keep arguing, he might come back.
But, seriously, 2014 and we've still got people looking for used Ultimarc products?
:dizzy:
