Title: Crisis Zone Version A vs Version B
Post by: JimmySmash75 on November 02, 2014, 05:55:37 pm
Hello everyone,

I'm new to this forum.

I have a question about Crisis Zone and the different boards that are available.

I recently bought a CZ version b on ebay, and it was DOA. LED lights won’t light up on boot and i checked the power on the filter board, and I'm pretty confident it is not wiring. My sound board/gun board power up, but just to be sure I also replaced the power supply as well. I've been in touch with the seller and he is adamant that it was 100% tested before it shipped, and given his ebay feedback rating and his willingness to assist in getting it working, i'm inclined to believe him. He even offered to send me a free power supply (at his cost) to try, before I ended up buying a new one from starburst.

But, it got me thinking. I’m wondering if there is a difference between Version A, and Version B. I have a single player cabinet that i purchased, that had the sub + pcb gun board (they power up) but was missing the game board. I purchased version b thinking it was just a newer version of the game, but I am now wondering if version b was for the 2 player version of the cabinet, and i should have purchased version A

So, based on that, my questions are:

Is there a difference in version a and version b, dependant on cabinet type?

I found a version a on ebay, minus the filter board. If there is a difference, would the filter board off my version b be compatible with version A board?
