Title: any good frontend for movies?
Post by: thomas_surles on November 02, 2014, 10:19:22 am
I'm wondering if there are some good frontend for just playing movies. Maybe pick a genre and scroll through some movies with auto full screen.
Or would a modified arcade frontend such as maximus or hyperspin do the trick?

MediaBrowser.tv

I use this on my HTPC with Windows Media Player.  Looks like it has a lot more updates that I haven't been keeping up with.

Xbox Media Center.   Its been a while since I used it but it was really user friendly and Im sure its improved since five years ago.  It has a nice feature where you can set it up so you can scroll through the movie posters that are links to your movie files.

XBMC for NAS or local playback, Plex for Client-Server playback.

Alright cool. I'm thinking a fat external hard drive with a movie front end and a projector.
