I just bought a PGA Tour cab that had the board and monitor removed. Am turning it into a Golden Tee 2005 Cab. I have a Big Buck Hunter 2 unit running that has a switching power supply and ATX Power Supply. I notice that the Golden Tee doesn't. I don't know if it was removed when it was gutted or it never had one. AND I don't know why I would actually need it? the ATX power supply should run the board and harddrive? (My GT 2005 is ordered but hasn't arrived)
The Buck hunter was converted from an older cabinet and I'm thinking the Switching might have been just left in the unit from whatever it was converted from. Can anyone straighten me out on this?

the older green boards from IT where just simply run on 12v/5v/-5v/-12v which could easily be supplied from the jamma harness via a simple switching supply...not much modification to install them was needed.
once they switched to the red boards, they required 3.3 volts and some higher amp 5 volt to supply things... that required a beefier supply, so ATX was the way to go since a special high amperage switching supply would far out cost a simple ATX power supply.

Thanks.
