Has anyone built 2 Vigolix? I'd like to build a vert and horizontal to be placed next to each other. Any extra design considerations when having them placed side by side?
-
I'm considering doing this but making bar top versions.

Not to familiar with Vigolix cabinets but could you do a horizontal and create a rotating monitor?

I think of all the cabinet designs, the vigolix lends its self the best to a rotating monitor set up. That being said, if you want a vertical one just for the 4 way games, it'd be better to have 2 cabs. I dont see why having 2 vigolix's side by side would be any different than any other cabs

Didn't do vert and horizontal, but I did do 2 "matching" cabs.

If I used the same Dell 1901FB monitor in each, does the bezel look to wide on the sides when I mount the monitor vertically? Do I have to sacrafice marquee space?

Just make the vertical cabinet skinnier.

Vigolix cabs were designed for 17 inch monitors though. You'd have to mod the plans to make it fit.

There isn't much to them though so you can modify them on the fly as you build.
I've picked up a flight stick from the late 80's at a thrift store (has a game port adapter on it) which means it's built fairly solid.
Same with my steering wheel from the the same era.
I could crank a few of these out using dedicated controls for each type of game.
I was building a cab out of pressure treated for my back porch.
got busy and when I had time to work on it again I wondered what id do with it in the winter since it's heavy as heck and while it's rough finish goes with the deck it will look like hell in the house. :)
My solution, vigolix bar top that slips into the cabinet on the porch when I have an outdoor party & can be easily brought in at night or the winter.

Wouldn't a Vigolix bartop just be a right triangle? >:D

There's a nice Vertical build by DrChek HERE -- http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php/topic,119909.msg1277891.html#msg1277891 (http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php/topic,119909.msg1277891.html#msg1277891)

Indeed. I was hoping to see them side by side though. I may have to just do it.
I have the large triangle part cut, poorly. I need to get a new saw yet.

Have you considered doing a couple of Vigolix inspired bar tops to see how you would like a horizontal next to a vertical?
