Title: dreamcast.
Post by: thomas_surles on October 26, 2014, 09:08:50 am
So I have a few dreamcast games that are pretty scratched up and no dreamcast.
My question is does the dreamcast natively play backups? I'm looking for a New
Dreamcast.

The Dreamcast can not play backups "natively" pursay, but crackers have pretty much made any ISO you find of a Dreamcast game self-booting.

And if your looking for a "New" Dreamcast I have a spare. It is used but it still works.  Let me know if your interested.

You can burn a magic ISO that will boot to any format (PAL,NTSC) and then you can hot swap. But like others have said the whole set is on a certain archive.  I have over 250 so its only the matter of finding the game on ISO and burning them.

Never seen that one, but it deserves a punch if used.

Pass mustard.

Nip it in the butt

when the E and L is mixed up like "tackel" or "Waffel"

Or when effect and affect is mixed up.

On topic, I burn ISO to disk for my DC. Get the right ones, and there is virtually no difference in how it boots up compared to an original. I don't mind buying originals, but some games are really prone to playing up if scratched. I've never had luck with Crazy Taxi originals for instance. One little scratch and it's useless. Yet some game I had (came with the system) has been used like a coaster and scratched to hell. That crappy game works perfectly!
