Title: New Raspberry Pi Model
Post by: mvolke1 on October 23, 2014, 11:58:42 am
There's a B+ now, with four USB sockets and some other improvements. This is just making our lives easier.

I love the R-pi foundations and I think what they have is good for what they are trying to do. That said I wish they would do a model with a CPU a bit newer.

The palm pre came out in 09 and I think they both use the same CPU.

Newer cpu would be nice.

TIC          TOCK
Model A   Model B
Model B+ Model A+

So that is where we are now, and will be soon.

I predict, there will be a RasPi 2, and a RasPi 2+ for the next tic toc cycle.

They are going to continue making Rpi with this CPU for a few more years but that does not mean they can't have a second line with a faster CPU.

PS I was wrong about it being the same CPU in the pre.

I read somewhere today that this isn't the 2.0 that everyone is hoping for, but finishing an idea.  I went back to look for it, but couldn't find it.

No mention of the "official" touch screen?

Beaglebone black still seems better (from what I can tell by reading) in every way other than not being able to do 1080p. Hmm...

They both have their advantages and disadvantages.......I'm just glad they "fixed" the ports sticking out from all sides of the Pi.  But I've had WAY better luck with stability on the BBB.

The B+ isn't new -- and that article wasn't about the B+, it was about the new display.

 ???

Yea I was confused too, the b+ has been out for a month or two so not exactly new in the electronics world.  I have 4 of them for various projects.
