Hi, im Nathan from New Zealand

first off awesome forum love seeing all the builds, iv always wanted to build a mame cab and now have decide to get off ---my bottom--- and do it,
i mostly play fighters so when it comes time for artwork i will probably go with a  street fighter theme, i forgot to take lots of photos but ill show
you what iv got so far

i like the simple lines of taito cabs so based my design off that

i decide to remove the pc from its tower

quick test run

onto the control panel,
using sanwa sticks and buttons. i tried a few different layouts, this is what i settled on
this is just a temporary CP, i eventually want to make the cp out of steel with an acrylic top

painted CP black, and added some vinyl, these will get clear coated in so there is no edge

next step now is to pull it all apart and paint the cab

Nice..l I like the clean look of the control panel... Reminds me of Blip.  The Japanese buttons are cool, but you not worried about them popping out?  Sanwa makes OBSN's that screw in.  No t-molding?

They don't pop out.  I've made several cabinets and sticks (and own a couple of candy cabinets), and these things don't pop out.

First of all, you never pull on them.  They're called "push buttons" for a reason. :)

Secondly, there's a spring-loaded catch in the side that's designed to grip in behind a steel panel, but also holds on pretty well to wood as well.  It takes considerable effort to get these out from the front without a hand behind the panel assisting.

Nice looking build, better than my first for sure.  Very clean lines, look forward to seeing it finished up.

Looks good, my man. Nice implementation of the monitor. That first photo had me fooled - I thought it was a 4:3.

I was worried about how secure the buttons would be but after putting it together they are fine, also this is still a temporary CP I will remake it out of steel with an acrylic top, I had a time limit to get it up and running for my boys birthday so made the mdf CP,

as for the t moulding I cant find any local suppliers (new Zealand) but may order from overseas

I have a couple of reels of black and chrome T'molding (gloss finish), PM me if this is what you are looking for otherwise you can order what you need from www.t-molding.com (http://www.t-molding.com) (I bought 120 yards - approx. 36metres - for 3 projects and the T-Cut blade for the router) and the freight was only $50USD

its automotive 2 pak paint, im a car painter by trade, painting is the easy part lol

I used those buttons and that encoder on my little girls cab they work great. The only issue I had was the buttons were an odd size, I didn't have that bit, and I had to fit each button. But I could have easily went and bought another bit. For the money they work like a charm. BTW how fast is that computer?It looks fairly new. Great looking first build, nice and clean.
