Title: finished my cab
Post by: eightbit on December 13, 2003, 02:48:18 am
I finished this today, the thing I'm not happy about was that I had to take the glass out to make the guns more accurate. The glass seemed to be throwing them off.

Looks really nice.  I have always loved red t-molding.

Too bad about the glass, I just added tinted safety glass and was thinking about a light gun...

What did you use for holsters?

Was it actual glass that you were using on your bezel, or another material (acrylic, Lexan, etc...)?

Still, it looks great anyway.  Good job!

Actual clear tempered glass.

Rubber molding

Very sharp. Love the red moulding.

Regarding the glass, do you think that regular non-tempered glass might work better? The reason I ask is that if you look at tempered glass at certain angles and under certain lighting you can see a distortion pattern that runs all through it. This could possibly be what's causing the problem with the light guns. In any case it certainly looks super, even without the glass.

In a home envirement I think it will do fine without the glass. I don't dare put a sheet of non-tempered in there, its just to big and somebody could get hurt on it which just wouldn't be worth it.

Over all I'm dissapointed in the guns even without the glass. Could be my tv/pc/video card combination but I wouldn't buy them after having used them I won't be buying them for the next cab. This cab is sold so I won't be keeping them either.
