Title: Charity build
Post by: Slippyblade on September 26, 2014, 06:34:57 pm
A group I belong to does an annual charity event for Rett Syndrome.  Once of the things we do is a silent auction.  I wanted to contribute something this year and decided a fight stick would be something cool to build.  I'd like it to be as universal as possible for consoles.  Anybody know if there is an encoder available that will do PS3, PS4, 360, and XBone?

Thanks in advance folks!

The akishop p360+ does PS3, 360, PC.  With extra cables it will do PS2, Xbox, and Dreamcast as well I think.  I don't think anybody has a unified board for the PS4 or XBone yet.

From the digging around I've done it looks like PS3 and PS4 use the same protocol.  Though I may be wrong.  Not surprised at all that Xbone is different than 360, which is different from OG Xbox.  Good ole' Microsoft.

Thanks for the reference Haruman.

That's cool. How much do things at the silent auction sell for (what range of prices)?

The range is all over the place.  Depends on the item, to be honest.  It's a medieval re-creationist group so most of the stuff that gets donated is hand crafted stuff along that theme.  Though we've gotten stuff like Xboxes and all sorts of things.  One friend works for a travel agency and she convinced her boss to pitch in a trip to Disneyland one year.
