Title: Anyone repairing Vegas Board for Blitz/Showtime?
Post by: stpcore on September 24, 2014, 07:52:13 pm
I have a Blitz/Showtime that fires up but has a scrambled image and seems to reset itself before fulling booting into the game. I replaced the HD, chips, and battery and still at square one (voltage is OK as well).

I was hoping to send it out for repair but my concern is obviously the price and I can't seem to get an estimate from anyone. I don't want to send the board out for a $300 repair when I can just buy a working one (if you know what I mean).

Does anyone know of a reliable person that I could send this board to? I tried Arcade Services in Indianapolis but the owner said he isn't taking any repairs for 3 weeks because he is moving his shop.

I've had this board set for months and it would be nice to get it up and running. Thanks in advance.

Sorry, I can't answer your original question but have you adjusted the +5 volt supply to the board.
Under voltage is very common and problems like you're having are typical symptoms.

When adjusting the 5 volts, make sure you are metering the voltage at the board, not at the power supply. You are looking to get 5.1 at the board.

Thanks for the reply.  Based on the research I did on this board the voltage was one of the first things I checked and it was dialed in just fine.

I went ahead and just bought a working board set today but would still like to get this non working board up and running if possible.  Now I"m thinking it may be fun to switch the video card and have a Gauntlet Dark Legacy board set for the Sportstation as well.  So if anyone has a reasonable/reliable repair tech I would appreciate the referral!
