It seems to me like someone might be trying to cashing on it being a limited Disney cabinet. The coin slots look wrong, as they aren't filled in.  What do you guys say?

It's 50/50. Based on what I've learned at KLOV, they aren't as rare as Kaneda people are making them out to be.

Yeah, the price is way too much even if it were legit. I am just questioning whether or not it is actually real.

without seeing inside of it or the documentation, I'd err on the side of caution and say fake.  Why dont you ask the seller if he has the paperwork for it?

Although my understanding is a lot of those cabs were scrapped together and one might end up looking different from another.

DAE remember. ...it was either a DK with Popeye art on the inside or a Popeye made from a pinball machine.   *shrug*

I'd bet many operators pieced together cabinets.  Just like we do.

Edit:

I ended up winning the auction for it and can confirm that it is indeed a real one. Considering the value of the units, and that it's a functioning piece of limited Disney memorabilia, $5000 was a steal. Also, it's never leaving my collection (especially since Disney plans to destroy the ones they still have).
