Rather than getting sawdust to repair a chipped corner (approx 1.5), can Bondo just be used and moulded to rebuild the corner? Sorry, I never used this product before.
I can't get Bondo Wood filler where I'm located but instead have access to the more generic Bondo that binds metal, wood, etc - a red and white container.

Bondo is totally fine. If you search the forums you will find a ton of edge repairs using it.

Bondo will work great.
The two part wood filler is really just the same thing anyway.
On really bad busted corners, I have grafted in a new corner with a biscuit joiner and then gouge the seam and bondo it

Thanks guys. I hope it's not too difficult to work with and is it like clay in the end? I'll do a search and also see if I can view some videos on the net.

Bondos not bad. You may wanna take a little practice on scrap.
Best bet is to apply the bondo then let dry until you can just scratch it with your finger nail. At that point you can rough shape it with a sureform planer. Then let it dry a little longer till full hard and finish sand.
