Title: Reverted back to admin approval on new accounts this morning - spammers

A slew of spammers has been registering and spamming this morning. They're getting past the new automated spambot detection we installed a month or so ago. Hooray.... I've reverted back to admin approval on new accounts for now, hopefully I'll spot them before approval.

I say leave admin approval on, you have enough admins that the wait shouldnt be too long. Beats pay palling money to get an account.

maybe its time to start pruning account more then 6 months old with 1 or less posts?   We're getting spammed by accounts registered on Jan 30th of last year.

With admin approval, do you get to see their first post before approval? I mean get to approve their first post and account. I saw they did that on another forum, which was cool. This way you can see if they are spammers or not...

No, but I believe there's a mod for that. It's on the list :)
