Do you have a workmate bench? Do you find it worthwhile?
-
I do. I don't really use it though. The one thing I would say that's useful is it is somewhat portable. But besides that, it's too flimsy and small for most of what I do.
-
I do... I keep it out in the wood shed, and we've got our wood splitter mounted to the top of it.
Got it as a hand-me-down when my father in-law dropped it off as one of his woodshop buddies didn't want/need it it any more.
Its light, easy to move around, and I love the way the whole bench top acts as a vise... I've got a 2x12" here that's longer than the bench is wide, onto which I've bolted a 2x4" on one side, which I then clamp into the bench top. Makes the bench extra-wide when needed.
I wouldn't consider the Workmate suitable for doing much hammering on, but for a quick bench to haul around and mount power tools on, they're ideal.

These guy's, right?

I got a couple. Use em mostly as sawhorses. Im also a messy guy and my workbench often gets cluttered, so I use it as an auxiliary bench. I don't find it has any particular use to me, since i could just use more real sawhorses and am going to build a bigger workbench.

I've got an old version of this one (the beefy model)...

Two saw horses, a piece of plywood, and a couple of clamps.

LOL, until I made my outdoor bench I used a pallet thrown on the ground.

Yep I got a workbench, I even have the router and table saw attachments for it. (not that I've ever used them, But they cost me a whole £2) I basically swapped between my workbench and my Freezer Top when building my bartop, You'll see it in a few of the pictures. I like it, My only complaint is that it needs to be about 50% bigger. But that's enough about what all the women in my life said >:D

I do and I use it quite a lot as I have to do my woodworking outside:

I like the fact that it is rock steady.
for larger stuff I use 2 saw horses though:

I've got a version of this one. I must have got it at Sam's Club because I know I didn't pay that much for it. I'm very happy with it. It folds up in literally seconds.

That's cool. I like how the bar clamps sit in channels.

Same here, though I use a borrowed one that's pretty beat up.
