Theres not that many options, but figured maybe im just missing something. I noticed the new ipac software for the ultimate io doesnt feature a "test" button, which made it very convenient to test run the buttons and such. Am i missing it? or is there a chance of implementation in the future?

open notepad?

Thats an obvious back up lol.. but doesnt help with all the buttons. test used to show diagonals and such. I can easily just open up umk3 and test it.. Just wondering if there was a feature i was missing or whatever thats all

I believe you can just watch the LED on the board. it reports if a button is wired wrong. Beyond that, I'm not sure.

fair enough. not a big deal, just thought it was kind of nifty to have it right there while programming. All good

Ultimarc also provide their own utility, not used it myself as I thought it was mainly used for rewriting the button configurations, but you can program controls in mame anyway (in terms of defining what button does what).
Try their downloads section.

KADE Loader (http://kadevice.tk/loader/setup.zip) has a nice keyboard tester function that is also available separately here (http://kadevice.tk/loader/utils/keyboard_tester_v0_1_0_8.zip).
