Have a CD100-A that we brought back from the dead and it sounded great. However, this morning the CDs played perfectly, and all of a sudden sound stopped. The speakers will randomly pop, and the CD engages and appears to be playing, but no music transmits through the speakers. I disconnected the mute (orange/black) wire on the CCC just above P13, no dice.
I'm at a loss as to what to check next. Could the crossover board be bad? Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Jarrod

Hello Jarrod,
You have taken out the mute plug, I would therefore check the amplifier by plugging in a hi-fi separate such as a CD player or tape drive into the phono input. Ifyou get sound ok then the fault will be on the laser or the mechanism control/decoder.

Hi Alan,
I tried this and we do get sound so the issue is either in the laser or the mechanism/decoder.
Any suggestions as to where to look first?
Thanks,
Jarrod

The first thing I would do is go over all the connections. Pull all the plugs and re-seat them including the audio cables. Sometimes you get lucky and that will work.
