Title: mame dual monitors support ??
Post by: hyiu on August 26, 2014, 10:08:07 am
Hi All:

I am in the process of building another cab, and would like to ask a question.

For games that have 2 screens (the particular game I am interested in is cyberball) where the arcade has 2 screens for 4 players that can play each other, and basically 2 players can play against the other 2.

Does Mame has any support in displaying the 2nd video ?

I really appreciate any support !!
Thanks !!

- Henry.

Are you trying to display them on separate monitors or show both original screens on one monitor? (MAME can do either)

just hit tab when MAME is running the game and look at video options.

I found the option in the newer version of MAMEUI64.

However, sadly, the game that I wanted does not support mutli screen display.
:(

MAME will only output to the same number of monitors as the original game. Load up a game like Outrunners , Punchout, or even the 6 player Xmen game and try the video option then.  If you want 2 monitors to output the same thing, change your desktop to duplicate display instead of extending it.  If you want MAME to extend a single screen game across 2 screens, it doesnt work that way.

It may be an issue of running the right revision of the game or changing something in the service menu.
I'll look at it this weekend.

I get a kick out of playing punch-out on my vertically oriented widescreen monitor.
