Has anyone seen any cabinets that allow you to play playstation games using arcade controls?

You can on mine, but using arcade controls (8way sticks) suck for PSX games. I got a playstation controller (3$) with a USB adapter from radio shack for 10$

Yah, mine works great for that, because what I did was have a giant terminal strip, and have the I-pac and the psx controllers meet up at a terminal strip, then from there one wire went out to a quick disconnect that connected to the microswitch.  It take's a lot of wire and patience because if you haven't soldered a lot of PSX controllers, chances are your going to make one or two cold solder joints and have to resolder some stuff, but if you've done them before, its super easy.

I'm modifying my cabinet to do this.

I've tooken an old KVM switch, and converted it to my arcade controls switch IPac/PSX controllers.

If you decide to get your cabinet to do both, make sure that the PSX controllers and PC interface(ipac, gamepad whatever) are not connected at the same time. In other words if your  playing on your pc, make sure that the controls circuit do not connect to your playstation and vice versa.

Like I said I using an old kvm switch to accomplish this, but it could be as simple as a usb adapter for ps2 controllers or a molex or dsub (db15 are good for a single set of controls) connector for each game pad.

Others have implemented switches using IC chips  (micro chip with control logic in it). I wanted to try this but the cost ended up more expensive than modifying my existing unused kvm switch....

here's a link to somone who implemented a switch built out of integrated circuits (ic)  http://www.russprince.com/cabinet/controlcircuit.html (http://www.russprince.com/cabinet/controlcircuit.html)

I believe there is a guy on this board named infrasonic?

He's making a ps2 encoder.  It has screw down terminals.
Very easy to hook up your controls to, like you would setup and ultimarc Ipac.

check out this thread, I think this is what you want?  You would not have to solder anyway...

You can hack Sony PlayStation controllers or even Dreamcasts to wire them up to arcade controls.

many people have done it or I can sell you one that's already hacked into.
