Title: Getting a jamma PCB running
Post by: kwk on August 14, 2014, 08:49:27 pm
What's the most affordable way to play a jamma PCB?  I'm acquiring a Ms Pac Man/Galaga PCB (the 2 best arcade games in one) and my plan is to get a jamma harness, a power supply, a speaker, a component to VGA adapter, and a VGA monitor, and a joystick and some buttons and stick them in an Ikea end table.  Is my method unsound?  ("Frankly, I don't see any method at all.")

Potentially down the road I would be interested in building or acquiring a real cocktail table.

Jamma boards do not output component (YpbPr) they output RGB video.

You would need the adapter noted here. 15 KHz RGB (cga) to VGA

I suggest doing some research on "superguns".  Basically a consolized arcade cabinet.  You can make one yourself or purchase something premade.
