Title: convert text list of ROMs to an xml list for hyperspin to read?
Post by: mkarabinus on August 13, 2014, 07:22:56 pm
I spent hours sorting through my gazillion ROMs and putting them in a "favourites" folder in mameuifx32.  (big mistake i think :banghead:)

It makes it easy to go through the files i want to play directly through mameuifx32, but i'm having trouble trying to figure out how to take the text file containing those ROM names, and convert it to an XML file so i can use that to populate my MAME wheel in HyperSpin.

Can anyone assist with advice on how to do this?

Or do i just need to use Dons HyperList to create a new list, since it will output in XML format.

I sure hope i didn't waste all that time!

thanks in advance!!!!!

feeling dumb in that "not so special" newbie kind of way.

I found how to do it on HyperSpin forum using the quite obvious "Create ROM list" link.

Now my problem is that my ROM names apparently are not recognized to auto-generate a list.

Now i am looking into renaming my ROMs...I think.

LOL!

I'm assuming you've used the online hyperlist program?

Yes I have...there were only a few that needed fixing so I did it manually.
