OK, so I am making progress on my cocktail which basically used a beat Millipede cocktail as a template/donor cab. On stock Millipedes there are some hooks attached to the locks that match up with eyebolts, which keeps the top shut. I'm missing the hooks and so am looking for another solution. Anybody have examples/pics of how to keep a cocktail closed? In this case I want to be able to lock it and there will be no other access panel than the top lid.

I'm not following exactly, why can't you just use CP style latches and reach in through the coin door to fasten/unfasten them?
-
Ah. It is a weird build- I'm putting a Retro Duo/Super Famiclone inside, and putting both players on one side, so I'm not installing a coin door. I'm hoping to access everything from the top when opened. So I guess I am less using the Millipede as a template and more going Dr. Frankenstein on it.
My issue is my 6 year old daughter. I doubt she could lift the glass/wood top, but would rather be safe than sorry. I am sure there is some easy solution that I am just not thinking of. Perhaps one of those child safety locks where you have to open a little and push in to release. I guess for home use I don't really need a lock, as long as no one ever tries to lift the cab by the top.

Why not just have a piece of wood attached to the top that comes down inside, then put a pin or something like that to lock it down?

Whatever you decide on keep it simple and sturdy. Seems like the top is a natural place to lift when people move cocktails so it should be well attached.

I would use just a simple cam lock on the side of the cabinet that has a hook latch instead of a regular bar (like a toolbox camlock). Then just a catch on the cocktail top that the hook can grab. That way you need a key to get in, and you can't open it when locked. Super simple.

Thanks for the feedback. Yeah, I need to do it right... it took me a while but I found some of the cam locks with hooks on ebay. If they don't work, I also like the idea of a simple security pin keeping it shut.

EDIT: I'm being stupid. I have a container full of locks. I'll just dremel a hook out of a couple of tha cams. Problem solved.
