Hey,
I have a Cruis'n World Cab, with a Wells Garner 29" chassis. The board is blown and I need some ideas of what I can do to fix / replace it??
Is it worth trying to fix the board?
Replace with a new/used chassis? What can I use?
Replace with LCD? What can I use?
Thanks in advance,
Jay

I think the video forum is going to be able to help you out better.
So long as you are sure it's the chassis and not the tube it's probably worth fixing. The easiest solution is to just buy a new one. There are people who will take your old board in trade to help cover the cost of the new one. Again, check the video forum.

The first thing you need to do is identify what model the chassis is.
if it's a WG, I think Cruis'n World was a Medium Res game so it's probably a K7500 or a U5000 chassis... If the fly back is cracked or the picture was dim or blurry before it died then you probably need a new Flyback which adds to the cost.
you can try to find a used replacement, or you can send it out for repair there are many businesses and individuals who do board repair, the price depends on the chassis model.
here's one of the more well know monitor repair shops in the collectors market: http://arcadecup.com/ (http://arcadecup.com/)
The price of a replacement can sometimes be cheaper than a repair but you don't know how reliable the replacement is... it could be good, or it could crap out after a few weeks. getting a repair you're going to get back a board that looks good and works good and most repair shops will guarantee their work for a few months.
